Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
ACH Regulatory Issues & International Remittances

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Nedelka Bell, Sr Account Executive, FRB Atlanta Miami Office, engaged the thirsty Bankers to learn about innovative banking practices for reaching international customers, with a specific focus on the provision of remittance to Mexico. The seminar featured a presentation by the Federal Reserve Bank on Directo a Mexico, a service that allows banks and credit unions to provide much lower cost remittances to Mexico by using the Fed's International ACH service. The session also included a brief discussion of the regulatory issues impacting remittances as well as a presentation on best practices in providing banking services to Hispanic immigrants. The event was sponsored by Independent Bankers Bank & RSM McGladrey. The collage of pictures captures a sense of the moment.
